Notre-Dame de Reims (Our Lady of Rheims) is the Roman Catholic cathedral of Reims, where the kings of France were once crowned. This is the "attic" area between the ceiling and the roof. The roof was replaced when the cathedral was rebuilt after WW1. All the beams here are made of concrete, but are shaped and installed just like the original wood beams.

Fontaines de la Concorde, Paris. The two fountains in the Place de la Concorde have been the most famous of the fountains built during the time of Louis-Philippe, and came to symbolize the fountains in Paris. They were designed by Jacques-Ignace Hittorff. This, the north fountain, was devoted to the Rivers, with allegorical figures representing the Rhone and the Rhine, the arts of the harvesting of flowers and fruits, harvesting and grape growing; and the geniuses of river navigation.

Touring the middle of Okinawa looking for for some exotic temple to photograph, I stumbled on the American Village shopping area. Both Americans and Japanese were enjoying some quality shopping, eating and movies.

It replaces an older church, destroyed by a fire in 1211, which was built on the site of the basilica where Clovis was baptized by Saint Remi, bishop of Reims, in AD 496. That original structure had been erected on the site of the Roman baths. As the cathedral it remains the seat of the Archdiocese of Reims
